Hot Rolled Pickled and Oiled Steel

Hot Rolled Pickled and Oiled (HRPO) bands are HR bands that have been processed through an acid bath to remove the oxides that exist on the surface. The hot rolled pickled band may contain surface imperfections that were not visible prior to the removal of the oxide.

Both HR bands and HRPO bands can be flattened by temper, skin rolling, or leveling.

Hot rolled pickled and oiled bands are intended for applications when surface is of secondary importance, or where a clean surface is desired for die forming or painting.
